St. Peter Will Reopen For Worship!
As New York enters Phase Two of reopening, Governor Cuomo announced that churches may open at 25% capacity. In order to provide worship services while keeping our congregation safe, St. Peter will take all of the necessary precautions by setting up hand sanitizing stations, providing face masks, and following social distancing guidelines. If you are in an at-risk group or don't feel comfortable yet in public, please do not feel pressured to join worship in-person. All of the sermons will continue to be posted on this site. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the church office at (845) 258-4541.
May 21, 2020
Governor Cuomo announced that starting May 21, 2020, "religious gatherings of no more than 10 people will be allowed statewide. Social distancing measures must be enforced and all participants must wear masks. Additionally, drive-in and parking lot services will be permitted. The state is convening an Interfaith Advisory Council to discuss proposals to safely bring back religious services."
The Atlantic District stated that this is a step in the right direction, but advises to be mindful of what an in-person service would require: "A 10-person service including a pastor, a musician, and an usher leaves space for 7 more participants."
At this time, St. Peter will remain closed for in-person worship, but will continue to provide services through this site and on social media. If you have any questions, please call the church office.
March 13, 2020
The Atlantic District recommends that we suspend in-person meetings during this time, and our state and federal government leaders suggest no group activities larger than 10 people. Therefore, all services, events, and activities at St. Peter are canceled beginning March 13, 2020, until further notice. Weekly sermons will be uploaded to this site to provide everyone with the Lord's message. Please contact Congregational President Christina Gust with any questions or concerns.
If you have any logistical needs during this time, please let Pastor Grant or Christina Gust know. St. Peter is committed to supporting its church family and its community during this trying time.
The St. Peter Food Pantry will remain open during this time. Click here to learn more about new policies that St. Peter put in place to continue assisting the community in the safest way possible.
