Good morning church family. God's blessings to you all. I pray that God continues to strengthen and sustain each of you during this time apart. I have been getting calls from our circuit visitor checking on us. I let him know that the congregation has been mostly healthy during this time, which is a blessing.
For the message today, we are looking at Luke 24:13-35. In this account, we see the resurrected Jesus bring hope to two of his followers as they were walking to Emmaus. His interactions with these two provide a glimpse of how Jesus desires to connect with us, as well as how we should be engaging the world with resurrection hope.
Today's reading
Luke 24: 13-25
Today's Hymns
Before the Throne of God Above
Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea
A great High Priest whose name is love
Whoever lives and pleads for me
My name is graven on His hands
My name is written on His heart
I know that while in heav'n He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart
No tongue can bid me thence depart
When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end of all my sin
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free
For God the Just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me
To look on Him and pardon me
Behold Him there, the risen Lamb
My perfect, spotless Righteousness
The great unchangeable I AM
The King of glory and of grace
One with Himself, I cannot die
My soul is purchased by His blood
My life is hid with Christ on high
With Christ my Savior and my God
Cornerstone
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus' name
Chorus
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Savior's love
Through the storm
He is Lord, Lord of all
When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil
When he shall come with trumpet sound
Oh, may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
Faultless, stand before the throne
