A most blessed Pentecost to you all. May God fill you anew with his Holy Spirit to encourage you, to guide you, and to equip you for every good work he has prepared for you to accomplish. One of the fruits of the Spirit is "peace", and I think our country could certainly use an outpouring of God's peace right now. Let us all lift up our nation in prayer - that anger, fear, and resentment would be replaced by the divine peace that passes all understanding.
For our message this week, we are looking at the classic Pentecost text in Acts 2. In sin, our ability to understand God and each other was greatly damaged. Even today, we see how easy it is to get into arguments with loved ones (or friends on social media) because we can't (or choose not to) understand each other. The Holy Spirit came on Pentecost - and gave a new understanding to God's people and the lost. He still does that today through us.
Today's Hymns
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You
To see You high and lifted up
Shinin' in the light of Your glory
Pour out Your power and love
As we sing holy, holy, holy
10,000 Reasons
Chorus
Bless the Lord O my soul, O my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before, O my soul
I’ll worship Your Holy name
The sun comes up it’s a new day dawning
It’s time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes
You’re rich in love and You’re slow to anger
Your name is great and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find
And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore
